TACTILE GROUND SURFACE INDICATORS (TGSI)/ TACTILE SURFACES

TACTILE SURFACE GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Tactiles surfaces are produced in order to create detectable contrasts in surface texture thanks to their raised parts, convey important information such as directional guidance and hazard warning to blind and visually impaired people, and therefore, enable them to move independently and safely in the urban environment.

TACTILE DIRECTIONAL SURFACE SPECIFICATIONS:

- Tactile surface's dimensions can be 300 x 300 mm or 400 x 400 mm.

- Tactile surface with the dimensions of 300 x 300 mm has four parallel directional strips.

- Tactile surface with the dimensions of 400 x 400 mm has six parallel directional strips.

- Tactile surface's material can be thermoplastic polyurethane, glass reinforced plastic or 304 quality stainless steel.

- TPU tactile surface can be applied both indoors and outdoors.

- TPU tactile surface for indoors is produced with an anti-dirt quality.

- TPU tactile surface for outdoors is produced with an anti-slip quality.

- TPU tactile surface can be produced as one colour or two colours.

- TPU tactile surface with one colour is yellow (RAL 1023) to ensure that it is detectable by the partially blind people.

- TPU tactile surface with one colour can be any other colour upon request.

- TPU tactile surface with two colours' directional strips can be yellow (RAL 1023) or fluorescent yellow.

- TPU tactile surface with two colours' surface can be the same colour as the application surface.

- TPU tactile surface with two colours' surface can also be transparent in order to show the application surface.

- TPU and stainless steel tactile surfaces can be produced as only directional strips or as an entire one-piece plate.
